I’m joining with the Five Minute Friday Community #FMF, to share this short, but hopefully meaningful post written in five minutes (with no editing). Hope you enjoy!
I heard Nic Vujcic speak once where he described how his wife gave him a gift wrapped just the right way where he could pull and untie the ribbon with ease with his mouth. She had slit the cardboard box on the corners, leaving off the top, filling it with colorful tissue paper, and making it easy for him to discover the gift inside.
His story made me think of how we’re all formed a special way in our mother’s womb, each a gift in the world filled with people of all kinds, shapes, sizes, with limbs, without limbs โ and we’re each given gifts in our lives according to God’s purpose for us.
But most of all, I thought of the gift of love, the most powerful gift of all. Through God’s love, we’re blessed wholeheartedly. Love can heal, love touches a longing soul, a lonely person, reaching in to the hearts of outcasts, sinners, and expanding through the universe to reach into our depths to realize what matters most.
For without love, we have nothing. We’re called to love God with all our hearts, minds and souls, and to love our neighbors as ourselves — to share a love that’s gentle, and kind and patient, in good times and in bad.
Love is really what it’s all about isn’t it? If we could just remember what a gift that is. ~Visiting from FMF today.
Love to have you visit Carmen, and yes..love..what a gift, and one we need to cherish and honor all the time!
Such a tender story – glad you shared it and glad I ventured over. I’m parked at #47 on the FMF linkup.
So happy to have you visit, will visit you, too..what a blessing to hear you you were touched by the tender story. We all have these to tell, we just need more of them don’t we!

These things always leave me speechless, my faith in humanity is completely restored now ๐
Hi Lily, thank you for visiting…yes, speechless, that awe we feel when God wakes us to the majesty around us, the mercy and beauty and love that only God’s love can bloom!
I love your words about gifts. I have seen a clip of Nic before too and was so impressed-how could you not be? God’s most sought after gift and one that He has asked us to share is love. I am glad how you ended with the reminder that love is the most powerful gift of all. Blessings!
Thanks Mary! I saw Nic speak at a high school..what a gift he is..watching him inspire hundreds of teenagers was deeply moving! ..Yes, love is the greatest gift of all — love can transcend all! Love having you here!
